Depending on where in the world you are right now, it’s summer. That means that temperatures are the highest they’ll be all year, and you’re probably on the verge of dying from a heatstroke as you read these words. If you are, I feel sorry for you. Trust me, I know how that feels since I grew up in the Caribbean. Anyway, for us gamers summertime is pretty interesting.
While most people use the warm weather to enjoy outdoor activities, we just see it as a time to play more games while keeping the shaded, snack-filled, possibly air-conditioned sanctuary that we call home all to ourselves. But if you happen to live in a house that is not particularly breezy or temperature-controlled, those gaming sessions can be an odd mixture of fun and complete agony due to the heat. This can be especially seen with our hands, which tend to get particularly sweaty while gripping our controllers. If you have this issue, don’t worry, Nyko thought of that.
The company is known for making very specific products, and they’ve gone and done it again with the new PS4/Xbox One Intercooler Grip. This device attaches to the bottom of the controllers and the built-in cooling fan sends out a steady flow of air to your hands to make your gameplay humid playing session just a little bit more enjoyable (and less gross). Better yet, none of this relies on the battery of your controller, as the Grip has its own internal battery pack.
The Nyko Intercooler Grip launched earlier this week and is currently avaliable now for the price of $20. Here are links to the Xbox One Edition on Amazon.
Will you be picking one up?
