With the Xbox One X having just released, there are a lot of folks who are now joining the Xbox family. Unfortunately, though, the influx of new users does come with its share of issues. One problem that some people have encountered with the X is that the system will not turn on, or it will operate for a time and then suddenly won’t turn back on. Xbox Support recently sent out a tweet to help address these power issues.
Did you know that your Xbox One is designed to be plugged directly into a wall outlet? Check out our console power guide here: https://t.co/lGymrPOQEV

The help article included in the tweet above mentions that Xbox One S and X consoles should not be plugged into a surge protector since they both feature built-in surge protectors of their own in their power supplies. Plugging either system into a surge protector can result in a lack of power, which then leads to damaged components.
Definitely, keep this in mind if you intend on picking up a One X or One S. It’s not fun to damage a shiny new piece of tech right after you get it.
