That’s a tweet from Mr. James Shields, the Product Marketing Manager for new Xbox accessories, formally revealing the controller. Microsoft has also released a story detailing what all went into the creation of this controller. It’s been worked on for several years with input from disabled gamers, and they all agree that it’s a true benefit for them to now have something like this. The Adaptive Controller is compatible with not only the Xbox One, but also Windows PCs.
This really is a cool thing for Microsoft to do. Making games more accessible allows more people to enjoy their passion, even if it’s not something that they can attain easily due to circumstances. As YouTuber Spawn Wave suggested in one of his videos, hopefully, this will inspire Sony and Nintendo to follow in Microsoft’s footsteps and try and do something similar.
Having been introduced to video games at the age of 3 via a Nintendo 64, A.K has grown up in the culture. A fan of simulators and racers, with a soft spot for Nintendo! But, he has a great respect for the entire video game world and enjoys watching it all expand as a whole.
