In the midst of Xbox’s E3 conference, Capcom dropped some big news. Devil May Cry 5 is real and oh man does it ever look like a return to form. There is a nearly three-minute trailer, packed to the brim with gameplay and over the top cutscenes. Everything you want in a Devil May Cry game is here in full force. Crazy characters? Check/ White hair? Check. Slow motion cutscene where people are grabbing things? Check. And if you wait until the very end of the trailer there’s even a familiar face I know Devil May Cry fans will be psyched to see!
The only thing that makes an appearance that isn’t really the norm for the series is Nero’s new weapon: a metal arm. There is a brief clip shown of him losing his flesh and bone arm but no context is given. But the game appears to be a revenge story with Nero after the guy who took his arm. I don’t know what he’s complaining about, his metal replacement is amazing. He does some sick moves and takes down demons in an even more flashy way than usual.
This will be the first traditional game in the series since Devil May Cry 4. It releases in 2019. Check out the trailer below!

Been a fan of video games ever since I opened up a Game Boy with Pokemon Yellow one Christmas far too long ago. I even taught myself to read by playing it! From then on, games and words have always been linked for me. I found that what I really liked about video games (and every other thing I owned) was the stories they held. I’m honored to be here, using my words to talk about the wonderful worlds that games can take us to.
