When Microsoft announced the formation of The Initiative, they went on and on about how this was going to be a studio to create AAAA games. As stupid as this concept appeared (most huge games like Halo and Gears of War would be described as AAA), they do seem to be putting their money where their mouth is. Murray is probably best known as one of the two game developers of Sunset Overdrive. In his time at Insomniac he also worked on Ratchet and Clank as well as the Resistance series. As big fans of Sunset Overdrive this feels our hearts with glee. When you add Murray to a team that includes Tom Shepard (former Technical Director at Rockstar Games), Brian Westergaard (Producer on God of War and Rise of the Tomb Raider), and other staff from Crystal Dynamics, Respawn Entertainment, and Sony Santa Monica, it’s looking to be quite a powerhouse of talent.
