Call of Duty’s Blackout Battle Royale gets a free trial

The lack of a singleplayer campaign doesn’t seem to have hurt Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. One of the reasons for the success of the game is arguably Blackout, Call of Duty‘s take on Battle Royale. Well, Treyarch and Activision are thinking that getting more people to play this mode will result in more sales. The way they plan to do this is by offering a free trial. This is set to run from today till the 24th January. Here’s the trailer announcing the free trial –

There’s been lots of speculation about whether Activision may release Blackout as a separate free-to-play experience. This would be an interesting way to test the waters. Only time will tell.
