E3: Cyberpunk 2077 launches April 16, 2020

A new gameplay demo was shown off for Cyberpunk 2077 at the Xbox E3 press conference. The highly anticipated open world game from CD Projekt Red is due next spring. It looks to bring a huge open world with deep, connected storylines and an array of character customization. Keanu Reeves was also revealed to be working with the Polish developer on the game. The famous John Wick actor spoke of his relationship with CD Projekt Red at the conference and introduced the release date to us all.

The new trailer footage showed off a night scene, drenched in neon pink lights and oozing with atmosphere. Last year’s lengthy E3 demo showed off daytime scenery, so it was welcoming to see a more traditional cyber scene. We were also shown a few new characters, although the demo appeared separate from previous footage. We have no idea how it all links together, but I have faith the developers can pull it off.

Another big surprise was the release date. With its striking next-gen-quality visuals, many of us expected a further out date. With the release date being confirmed for April 16, 2020, you have less than one year until you can get your hands on Cyberpunk 2077. Whether it’s cruising around the metropolis, shooting up bad guys in slick action scenes, or simply exploring, Cyberpunk looks to move the open-world genre forward once again.
