The Saints Row franchise has been a little quiet for a while now. We’ve had a remaster of Saints Row IV and there was also Agents of Mayhem which took place in the same universe. However, when it comes to a new entry in the franchise, there hasn’t been one since 2013. Well, that won’t be the case much longer as THQ Nordic has confirmed that Volition is working on a new title in the series.
The news can be gleaned from the latest THQ Nordic financial report. After all the balance sheet info and staffing updates, they talk about what’s been worked on and one of those future projects is a new Saints Row game. Here’s exactly what was said –
“Volition is deep in development of a brand-new Saints Row game, the first full entry in this much-loved series since Saints Row IV was released in 2013.”
Obviously, this news is vague at best. There’s no mention of timescale. It also doesn’t suggest whether this will be a sequel, a reboot, or something else. Either way, we look forward to Volition bringing us some Saints Row-themed craziness. You can be sure that as soon as we have more information, we’ll share it with you, here on Xbox Enthusiast.
