Four Xbox first party games in UK top 10 charts

It seems that FIFA 20 has given other Xbox games a big boost since its launch last month. In another Microsoft-dominated sales week in the UK; Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, Minecraft: Xbox Edition and Forza Horizon 3 make the top 10. Of course, FIFA 20 comes top of the pile, especially with its recent release date.

Xbox console bundles featuring FIFA will be the biggest reason for an increase in sales of older Xbox titles. It shows how such a massive launch can shift unit sales of other bundled games. Still, Microsoft will happy that a new third party release can drive engagement with their own developed titles.

The top 10 for the week ending October 5 is as follows:

  1. FIFA 20
  2. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
  3. Borderlands 3
  4. Gears 5
  5. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  6. Ghostbusters: Remastered
  7. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
  8. Sea of Thieves
  9. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  10. Forza Horizon 3

It’s interesting to note that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint also managed to hit number 2, despite a lukewarm critical reception. Not only that, but fans have also took to forums and elsewhere to voice their opinions on the game’s microtransaction system.

Of course, that could be because most of the other heavy hitters this month aren’t dropping until later on. Both Modern Warfare and The Outer Worlds launch on October 25, to name a few.
