Anthem VIP Demo goes live and goes wrong

One of our most anticipated games of this year comes out in less than a month. That game is Anthem. The online action role-playing game from Bioware is currently teasing fans with a demo. If you have pre-ordered the game or have EA Access than you can join in the Anthem VIP Demo which is live right now. Things are not running smoothly, though.

First of all, people had trouble joining the servers for the game –

These initial problems have apparently been sorted but there is still a range of issues that people are having. A lot of people are experiencing an infinite loading bug. Basically, the game loads up to 95% but then just stays there and doesn’t go any further. There’s no fix for this but Bioware has made a workaround known –

There also appears to be issues with people even getting past the Anthem title screen. And people are also struggling to gain access to the friend codes that allow you to invite other people to join the Anthem VIP demo.

Before people lose their minds, let’s be clear. As much as this is a demo for people to try out the game, it is also a stress test for its infrastructure. I think we can all agree that it is much better that BioWare and EA sort out all the issues with the game before it launches on 22nd February.
