We are just a couple of weeks away from the latest Call of Duty being unleashed into the world. And the confusingly titled Modern Warfare (confusing in that we’ve already had a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) has just got a new trailer. To continue the theme of confusion, this new trailer is called a “Launch Gameplay Trailer”. Just a couple of issues with this. First of all, as I said earlier, we are 18 days away from the game launching. Secondly, a far more pressing is the distinct lack of gameplay in the trailer. This seems to be becoming a trend after the Ghost Recon Breakpoint gameplay trailer that didn’t feature any actual gameplay. I think you could make more of an argument for a couple of seconds of this Call of Duty trailer being actual gameplay. However, most of it has to be in-game cutscenes.
Disregarding the ambiguous title of the new video, this does do a good job of building hype towards the game. It’s great to see Captain Price make a return. Add to that the improved visual fidelity (an area Call of Duty has never been a slouch in) and this certainly gets me back on board the Call of Duty train. You can make your own mind up by watching the trailer below –
