Darksiders Genesis is out next February on console (or this December on PC and Stadia) and the developers have us a new update. Strife, the Rider of the White Horse, is the latest character to be introduced. He joins the War character for two player, co-operative action.
Strife is witty, with a focus on pure aggression. His best friends are known to be the pistols he wields, rather than fellow character, War. He also sports impenetrable armour, which seems a decent option for fighting against Lucifer’s demons…
Darksiders Genesis is an upcoming spin off to the popular franchise. Set before the events of the first game, Genesis is a prequel that introduces the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Rather than Darksiders’ typical third person perspective, Genesis is a played from a top-down view. It’s also the first time the franchise has moved towards co-op play, as 1-3 were all single player titles.
The series has gained some momentum as of late, following a hiatus after THQ’s initial downfall. The franchise then moved into newly formed THQ Nordic’s hands, before Gunfire Games were given the keys to continue it. Since taking over, Gunfire has remastered the first two titles and developed last year’s Darksiders 3.
Darksiders Genesis releases on February 14. The Strife trailer is available below.
