David Jones is no longer involved with Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3 Horizontal

Well, our suspicions were correct. David Jones and Reagent Games are no longer involved with Crackdown 3. While this may shock some, David Jones is not one of those as he seems quite comfortable with the situation. In an interview with gamesindustry.biz he said –

In an ideal world it could have been finished faster and I would have been able to see it through to the end. But to be honest, I look back at other gaming franchises I’ve worked on and they’ve done really well without me being there as well, as long as the DNA is there and the right foundations are there.

Quite what this means for the Cloudgine technology, which Jones was head of and powered the epic multiplayer destruction shown at Gamescom several years ago, is anyone’s guess. Microsoft was pretty cagey about the technology they’re using when they spoke to Polygon at E3.

There are still countless questions and even some mysteries about Crackdown 3, here’s hoping that we will get some answers to those questions during Gamescom in August.
