E3: All the big news and trailers from the Xbox E3 briefing

E3 is here! Well, it officially starts tomorrow but the big conference was today. Yes, fellow Xbox enthusiasts, today saw Phil Spencer take to the stage at the Xbox E3 briefing to share all the glorious Xbox goodness we can expect over the next twelve months and beyond. It was a jam-packed conference. Full of game reveals and hardware info. Of course, we covered all the big stories as they happened but if you missed any, here are all the big announcements from the show.

The next Xbox

Project Scarlett was announced last year but we got some interesting new details during this Xbox E3 briefing. The biggest being that it will launch late next year! No specific hardware details were released but it will be capable of framerates up to 120 frames per second and can output 8K resolutions. You can read our write up here and check out the video below –

Elite Controller Series 2

Also on the hardware front, Xbox announced a successor to their Elite Controller. The Elite Controller has been a big hit for Microsoft. Despite having a high price point compared to the standard controller, it has garnered many fans. And these fans have been clamouring for a follow-up to this controller. Well, they will all be glad to hear that the Elite Controller Series 2 was announced during the Xbox E3 briefing. It adds adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wraparound rubberized grip, and shorter hair-trigger locks to the formula. The big addition, though, is the news that it comes with a rechargeable battery that allows you to play for around 40 hours before needing to recharge it. Forza Horizon 4 LEGO Speed Champions

As I correctly predicted in our E3 predictions, there was no Forza Motorsport 8 at this year’s E3. Instead, we are getting a LEGO expansion pack for Forza Horizon 4. This might seem like a strange collaboration but after the incredibly successful Hot Wheels expansion for Forza Horizon 3, it does make sense. The most important thing, though, is that it looks amazing. Everything is LEGO! The drivers, the scenery, and of course, the cars. You can read all about it here and check out the trailer below –

Cyberpunk 2077

One of the most anticipated games of all time has to be Cyberpunk 2077. The latest game from CD Projekt Red has been bubbling away for some time now. Minecraft Dungeons

Just like previous years, there was a Minecraft section of the Xbox E3 Briefing. However, unlike previous years we were actually interested this time (apologies to Minecraft fans). A new game was announced in the form of Minecraft Dungeons. This is a dungeon crawler in the Minecraft universe for 1-4 players. You can read all about it here and check out the trailer below –

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Just like Microsoft Flight Simulator, the Age of Empires games are huge on PC. The massively popular strategy game is now making the move to Xbox with Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition coming later this year. You can check out the trailer below –

Blair Witch

If you prefer your games to be a little spooky then Microsoft had you covered at the Xbox E3 Briefing. We admit that we got all excited at first thinking that there was a new Alan Wake game but this still looks great. You can check out all the info here and watch the trailer below –

This is the much-rumoured collaboration between Dark Souls developer, FromSoftware, and Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire author, George R. R. Martin. You can read all about it here and watch the trailer below –

Dying Light 2

Polish developer, Techland, has been a little quiet of late. It turns out that was because they were hard at work on Dying Light 2. Yes, the parkour zombie game is back and looking better than ever. You can check out the trailer shown during the Xbox E3 briefing below –

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
