E3 has brought us a fresh new trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Between EA’s press conference yesterday and the newly released trailer we have learned several bits of information. The game’s story will drop players into the canonical storyline in the events leading up to Rogue One. Players will interact with characters from the film including Saw Gurrera and other known Star Wars figures.
From the 14 minutes of gameplay debuted during yesterdays EA press conference, the game’s mechanics look to be absolutely incredible. The combination of force moves and clever light saber tricks look fantastic. What is even more interesting is that it is completely free form, no lame preprogrammed actions. Players will be in complete control of their playstyle and combat tactics.
As with any Star Wars game, the Force will play a major roll in both combat and strategic mechanic decisions. The gameplay demo revels many interesting expressions of the force. Amongst the best moves shown was a clever time-remapping aka ‘Slow’ mode. This mode allows the Jedi to do incredible things like slow a blaster ray down, use a classic force-pull to move the bolts owner and kill them with their own bolt. Players are also paired with an adorable little drone named BD-1. BD-1 assists the Jedi to complete classic drone orientated tasks: hacking doors, overriding computers, and generally causing mischief.
Though we don’t know much about the storyline the game itself, from what we’ve seen things look quite interesting. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will release on November 15th for Xbox One, Windows PC, and PlayStation 4.
