Dead by Daylight, the asymmetric horror title from Behaviour Interactive is getting a major new update. The Archives are coming, consisting of The Tome; a set of challenges and rewards coming to Dead by Daylight and The Rift; a battle pass-like system bringing a bunch of new customization options.
The set of challenges are applicable to playing as both the killer and the survivor classes. These unlock extra XP and bloodpoints; a currency used to upgrade characters. The Tome challenges vary in difficulty, and unlock extra lore behind some of the playable characters on offer.
The Rift shows yet another game jumping on the battle pass bandwagon. Rift items in Dead by Daylight are purely cosmetic and the set of rewards reset around every two months. This consists of both a free and paid section like most examples, but Dead by Daylight does give some neat things back if you opt for the paid version.
Behaviour’s horror title features plenty of crossover with popular horror franchises. The most recent was a Stranger Things DLC, which has been hugely popular in the game. There were also rumours spreading around a potential I.T crossover, but nothing has materialised just yet. A Halloween event is coming though, which starts on October 22.
The Archives have recently been in the game’s test build, and will release soon. The trailer is available below.
