Final Fantasy VII Remake could come to Xbox in 2021

The last month or so has been good for fans of Final Fantasy¬†on Xbox One. At X019 we got the announcement that 10 games from the franchise were going to be coming to Xbox Game Pass. During 2020 the following games will be coming to the subscription service –

  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered
  • Final Fantasy IX
  • Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered
  • Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered
  • Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2
  • Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
  • Final Fantasy XV

While all of this is good, there is still a gaping hole when it comes to the franchise. And I’m not talking about Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV which Phil Spencer has confirmed will be coming at some point. No, I’m talking about the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Well, if you’re wishing that the update of this much-loved classic was on Xbox, do we have some news for you. While the game has been confirmed as coming to Xbox One, an update to the box art for the game has confirmed that it is only a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4. From the 3rd March 2021, the game could appear on other systems. This means it is likely to make an appearance on whatever Project Scarlett turns out to be but it’s good news that Xbox fans could still get to enjoy Final Fantasy VII Remake. You can check out the new box art below –

The world has fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet’s very life force as mako energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic consequences that await him.

A spectacular reimagining of one of the most visionary games ever, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE rebuilds and expands the legendary RPG for today.
