Codemasters’ GRID is the only new entry in the UK game sales charts this week. The arcade racer sped to number five on the list, but couldn’t quite overtake Mario and his kart-racing pals on Nintendo Switch. The everlasting kart racer still managed a number three spot.
The list comes from UKIE, and details the top physical game sales in the UK, for the week ending October 12. Ghost Recon Breakpoint holds its spot at number 2, despite much controversy surrounding paid DLC and microtransactions. Of course, FIFA 20 still sits at number 1, as the series just doesn’t stop selling.
Here is the week’s top 10:
- FIFA 20
- Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Gears 5
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
- Borderlands 3
- GTA V
- Sea of Thieves
There are a few other interesting findings from this week’s sales data. Gears 5 has held its spot at number four in the UK, despite reports of the game’s poor sales in comparison to Gears 4. Of course, Game Pass is a big reason for that. Yet, another game that released around the same time, Borderlands 3, has dropped from number three all the way to eighth. Gears 5 is still being heavily marketed by Microsoft, with adverts popping up over a month after launch.
