Limited edition Gears 5 Xbox One X console announced

Gears 5 bundle

The first proper special edition Xbox One X console since the Project Scorpio variant has been announced! To coincide with the release of Gears 5 next month, a Gears themed console is coming and it’s certainly a looker. To fit the new direction The Coalition is taking with Gears 5, the system features an ice white theme with a frozen crimson omen.

Now, if the design looks familiar, that’s because last month we reported on a rumour surrounding a Gears 5 themed controller. Lo and behold, that image matches the controller found in this bundle. It’s nice to see a console to go with it though, as the Xbox One X hasn’t had many special design variants.

Alongside the console and controller, a nice selection of goodies are also included. Of course, we have the Ultimate Edition of Gears 5 which includes the base game, a bonus character pack, 30 days of boost and 4 day early access. Along with the latest entry, the bundle also includes digital copies of Gears 1-4, with the first game’s remaster being the one included. The controller within this bundle will also be available to purchase separately, alongside a matching charging dock. This is a good alternative for someone who wants a piece of the Gears 5 action without shelling out for the console bundle.

That’s not all for new Gears-themed hardware however! A themed headset is also coming in September from the creators at Razer, along with a keyboard and mouse set for those PC players looking to jump into Gears 5. If you’re struggling for virtual storage for these Gears goodies, a 2TB Seagate hard drive is also coming, along with a 5TB Gamestop exclusive variant.
