Microsoft acquires 4 studios and creates a new one

Microsoft’s collection of first-party studios just got considerably more impressive. We have known for a while that they were creating a new studio in Santa Monica, California. Well, we now know that this new studio is called The Initiative and is being headed up by former Crystal Dynamics head, Dermot Gallagher. Phil Spencer also announced that they had brought four more studios into the fold with Undead Labs (the State of Decay developer), Playground Games (the Forza Horizon developer), Compulsion Games (the We Happy Few developer), and Ninja Theory (the Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice developer) becoming first-party studios.
