The next Metro title looks to be in development following this year’s Metro Exodus. The post-apocalyptic series, which takes place in Russia, went semi-open world with Exodus. Whether that direction is followed going forward remains to be seen. The series is known for its atmosphere and brilliant visual design, which began with 2010’s Metro 2033.
In an investor presentation by THQ Nordic, the company went over their Q1 results and what’s next for them as a publisher. Metro Exodus released earlier this year, and THQ Nordic announced that 4A games are further “working on the Metro franchise.” The next game is in addition to the two DLC’s announced for Exodus, which are yet to be fully revealed.
The Metro games are based off a book of the same title by famous Russian Author Dmitry Glukhovsky. He recently posted a status on his Facebook page also confirming the next Metro. Glukhovsky will be working on the story for the next entry, which will likely be a next-gen title.
