The Original Xbox Duke Controller is Officially Coming Back in March

If you happen to be a gamer with large hands, then you may have been a big fan of the first ever Xbox controller: the Duke. It launched alongside theĀ true Xbox ‘1’ back in 2001. While some players enjoyed it, the majority was not a fan of its almost comically large design compared to most other controllers. This was especially true for Japanese users, who tend to have much smaller hands than their American counterparts. Microsoft admitted defeat when it later released the Xbox ‘S’ controller, which has the more familiar Xbox design that eventually grew into both the Xbox 360 and One controllers. But, somehow, it looks like there’s been enough fanfare surrounding the Duke to warrant its grand return, and that’s exactly what’s happening in March.

First revealed last year at E3 2017, the new Duke rebirth from Hyperkin will be launching at the end of March for $70. The release window was announced by Seamus Blackley, who is a video-game designer and the one who had the =idea of bringing the Duke in the first place.

Are you excited for this? With original Xbox titles slowly making their way to the Xbox One via Backwards-Compatibility, this should make the experience all the more nostalgic. Keep in mind that the new Duke will also support Windows PCs.
