Outlast developer teasing new game

Outlast

Red Barrels, the team behind Outlast, is teasing an announcement on Twitter. The second Outlast title released in April of 2017, so it’s no surprise to see a tease from the developers. The series is a first person horror franchise, and utilises the fan footage horror technique.

Little is said about what the team is teasing; not even confirmation that it’s another Outlast entry. Both titles so far were well received though, so another would make sense. The timing of the announcement along with the paired image definitely point towards more horror.

Although Red Barrels is using the Halloween hype for marketing purposes, it’s a shame their new game isn’t releasing soon. It’s been two and a half years since Outlast 2, and this Halloween will be the last before all eyes are on the next generation.

Outlast 2 was initially aiming for a Halloween-timed release too, before getting delayed into the spring. Whatever the next game from Red Barrels is, we hope to see it soon. Having said that, early next year is already pretty packed. Dying Light 2 is coming early 2020, along with DOOM Eternal in March and Cyberpunk 2077 in April.

Are you looking forward to a new horror game from the team behind Outlast?
