Overwatch free trial begins today

These days, there’s a staggering amount of free-to-play options in gaming. From straight up free games like Fortnite and League of Legends, to subscription services like Game Pass, which frequently offers trials and deals to get people in the door. One other option that’s grown recently is the free trial. On Xbox, that’s typically the Free Play Days program, where free games rotate for a limited time.

From November 26 through December 4, Overwatch is the latest game to get a free trial. For just over a week, you can get unlimited play time on the full game. That means access to all the heroes, maps and modes you could want from Blizzard’s massive online shooter.

Just last week, Xbox offered another range of free trials as part of the program. This consisted of Rainbow Six: Siege, Borderlands 3 and Prison Architect. It’s safe to say that over the last week or so, you’e been covered for some free online shooter action on Xbox One.

Blizzard recently announced Overwatch 2, so it’s not a surprise to see more free options release for the first game. Overwatch 2 has no release window, but Blizzard are hard at work on a sequel. It will likely be a next gen title, as Project Scarlett is around a year away.

The Overwatch free trial runs from November 26 through December 4.
