Rogue Company, the new multiplayer shooter being published by Hi-Rez Studios, has been announced. Our first look at the game shows off third person shooting with a more realistic style than what the studio is known for. Hi-Rez Studio’s last release was Realm Royale, the Fortnite-inspired spin off from Paladins. This style change is likely due to First Watch Games leading development this time around.
The trailer begins with a parachute drop, but Rogue Company doesn’t appear to be a battle royale, for now at least. Once the action kicks off, there looks like some unique character abilities in play. We see a deployable drone flying around, along with ballistic shields and throwing knives. How matches play out remains to be seen, but it does seem quite hectic.
On first impressions the game’s visuals look rather generic, but one segment stood out. We see a solider with a badass-looking gold skull for a face, which will hopefully lead to some unique customisation options. He’s being hunted down by multiple enemies though, so he could be a special character of some sort.
You can sign up for the Alpha right now on the game’s website. Rogue Company will launch in 2020 on Xbox One along with all other major platforms. The trailer is on show below.
