Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is out today, and brings the game and season pass content together. This new edition essentially phases out the old ways of purchasing this content, meaning your $60 buy in will grant you the game and all additional DLC.
However, for those who own the base game from before this release, or via Xbox Game Pass, there’s a neat bonus. The season pass is no longer up on storefronts, and all DLC content is now placed in the cheaper “Definitive Edition Extra Content” pack.
This pack is priced at $20, or your regional equivalent. The old season pass was $30, so the same add on content is now at a decent discount. All seven DLC challenge tombs are here, alongside extra weapons, outfits and skills. This presents a good way to get hold of the add ons, especially if you grab a cheap physical copy of the base game.
The first entry in the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy also got a definitive edition. This version was slightly different, as it not only combined the game and DLC, but also released for a new generation of consoles. It could be that this version may also get a next gen release, when Project Scarlett is out in the wild.
