Shovel Knight physical edition coming for Xbox One

Shovel Knight, an old school pixel art platformer from Yacht Club Games, is getting a physical release on December 10. It comes with a bunch of content released since initial launch in 2015. This includes Shovel Knight Showdown, which is essentially a whole new Shovel Knight game, focusing on multiplayer fighting.

The other new content included in the collection is Shovel Knight: King of Cards. This acts as the final add on for the main game, and features four new worlds and over 30 courses. King of Cards adds to three previous campaign expansions; Shovel of Hope, Plague of Shadows and Specter of Torment.

To be clear, if you already own Shovel Knight digitally on Xbox One, the two new add ons are free. On other systems, you can purchase add ons separately, but on Xbox One, a bundle is the only way to go. The digital complete edition is $25.

This upcoming physical release will set you back a little more, so if money is tight, digital is the better option. The disc version will cost $40, and contains no extra content over the cheaper and already released digital edition. This one seems to be aimed at collector’s or those who only buy physical games.

Will you be picking this one up ?
