Star Wars: Battlefront II is getting The Rise of Skywalker content

We may be just over a week away from the next Star Wars game from Electronic Arts but that doesn’t mean they’ve finished supporting Battlefront II. While Star Wars Battlefront II may be ‘best known’ for being a “Star Wars-themed online casino” it has cut out all the microtransactions (sorry, surprise mechanics), continued to drop new content and events, and has been rewarded by keeping an engaged player base. Well, if you are one of the gamers who has stuck with the game, or are interested in going back to it, then you’ll be excited to hear that there will be new content based on The Rise of Skywalker coming next month. There are no specifics regarding what the content will be or when it will arrive, just that it is coming in December. The announcement was made via a Tweet by Ben Walke (Global Community Lead at EA DICE) which you can check out below –

He also Tweeted out the community calendar, showing what Battlefront II fans can expect during November. You can check out that Tweet below –

Personally, I haven’t gone back to Star Wars: Battlefront II since the launch week as I was absolutely disgusted by the microtransactions and the amount of grinding required to get anywhere if you weren’t prepared to spend more money. Whether I will go back for content based on the new film, I’m not sure. However, in the meantime, I am looking forward to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Here’s hoping that that game is not tarnished by horrendous monetisation practices. Although, this is Electronic Arts that we are talking about.
