Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gets another new trailer

There are many reasons to release a new trailer for a game. There’s the good old teaser trailer that introduces a new game or IP to the public. How about a gameplay trailer that shows off how the game will actually play? There’s the good old launch trailer which reminds people that a game is now available. After released a game may get an accolades trailer which touts the positive responses the game has received. I have to say that the latest trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a new one on me as it’s a “Black Friday Trailer”. Now, to any readers who are going, why are you only reporting on this now, allow me to explain. This new trailer is called a “Black Friday Trailer”, yet it was only released today.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Electronic Arts has messed up the timing of promo materials for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. For some reason, they decided to release the “Launch Trailer” for the game around two and a half weeks before the game. And let’s not forget the bizarre way they announced the game by sitting next to Vince Zampella in the crowd at the Electronic Arts E3 presentation in 2018. There wasn’t a logo or any images, just a middle-aged man saying that the game was called Jedi: Fallen Order. Anyway, without further ado, here’s the “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – Black Friday Trailer“.

This is a little bit of a strange promotional move. Negating the fact that it would have made more sense to call this a “Cyber Monday Trailer” rather “Black Friday Trailer”, there isn’t any deal on offer here or something. I was kind of expecting the trailer to conclude with some sort of deal like 10% off the game on the Xbox Store. Instead, the only slightly different thing we get is a brief image of an Xbox One SKU that comes with the game. This is hardly worthy of a “Black Friday Trailer”. However, we’re willing to let Electronic Arts off as they have managed to finally bring us a decent Star Wars game and this trailer does have some cool footage in it.

I recently finished playing through Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and had a blast with it. If anything, my biggest question about the game was that PEGI gave it a 16+ rating. In fact, I wrote an article about that which you can check out right here.
