The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe delayed to 2020

The Ultra Deluxe version of The Stanley Parable has been shifted on to 2020. This uniquely funny take on the “walking simulator” released as a mod for Half-Life 2 back in 2011.  It was then developed into a full game in 2013, but only released on PC.

The Ultra Deluxe edition was slated for 2019, on consoles and PC. More than a remaster, this version of The Stanley Parable will include new paths to walk, choices to take and endings to discover. However, this updated release will now be delayed to 2020. The delay was announced in a bizarre video which certainly follows the same unique style of The Stanley Parable.

The Stanley Parable

As a console player who never got the chance to try out The Stanley Parable, I am looking forward to this release. A “probably before summer” 2020 date fits just fine with me, as things are quite busy in the gaming world between now and then. It will be interesting to see just how different the Ultra Deluxe is and whether players of the original deem it worthwhile.

The developers seem to have come around on thinking that new content is worth adding. Alongside this update video, they posted a self-deprecating statement.

It’s time to fix this, to unburden our shame. Let us give you our shame, for you to carry it around instead. We’re sick of it.

From the liars who brought you the award winning indie game The Stanley Parable comes The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, an expansion to the original game with more content, more endings, more whimsical adventures of the two best friends Stanley and The Narrator. Coming to PC and consoles in 2019 2020.

Here’s the update video:
