One of the games I remember from attending my first gaming event as a journalist was Unbox by Prospect Games. I clearly recall playing it and thinking that it was such a fun, interesting, and new idea to have a box as the star of the game. It would appear that I’m not the only one who thought that it was a novel idea to have a box as the star of a game as French developer, Seed, has just announced Pile Up! where you play as a box.
Unlike Unbox, the focus of this game is co-operative play. You play with up to three friends, solving puzzles, and generally finding your way around the environment that wouldn’t have looked out of place in Yoshi’s Crafted World. You can check out the trailer for Pile Up! along with the official description below –
Pile up! ticks all the right boxes as a family-friendly cooperative 3D platformer for 1 to 4 players! Jump up, slide down, play together and carry the load! Coordinate with your friends or rely on your own creativity to navigate a colorful cardboard world full of uniquely joyful levels, where you encounter the friendliest boxes you have ever seen!
Pile Up! is scheduled to launch for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in 2020
