Two Xbox Games Studios included in Golden Joystick awards

Both Gears 5 and The Outer Worlds are up for the Golden Joystick’s highest award. The Ultimate Game of the Year 2019 vote features 12 titles, with the two Xbox Games Studios included in the mix. Of course, The Outer Worlds‘ publishing deal was sorted before Microsoft acquired the studio, but it bodes well for the future.

The rest of the list includes a lot of other third party games that appear on Xbox platforms too.  Only four games on the list are currently not available for Xbox One, with three of those featuring on Windows PC. The full list is as follows:

  • Disco Elysium
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • Telling Lies
  • Apex Legends
  • Gears 5
  • The Outer Worlds
  • Untitled Goose Game
  • Outer Wilds
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Resident Evil 2
  • Control

The Golden Joystick Ultimate Game of the Year vote ends on November 1, so if you want to support your favourite titles then vote here. The ceremony takes place on November 15 in London, and will celebrate a bunch of other gaming categories too. At present, no other voting categories are available online, although some may open up in the coming weeks.

Does Gears 5 or The Outer Worlds get your game of the year vote?
