Way To The Woods is finally coming in 2020, to Xbox Game Pass

Long in development Way to the Woods was shown off at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference. This cutesy adventure game gives off huge Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons vibes, except this time you play as a…deer? Anyway, it’s releasing in 2020 for real this time, the developer promises.

This co-op adventure is coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch and looks like it will require some serious teamwork to get through. Making your way to the woods will be the end-game, after getting through some shady looking environments. The trailer alone showed off sewer systems, stations and precariously placed vending machines to bypass.

Although story looks to be the focus, there will be plenty of puzzle-solving for the pair of deer. The sole developer, Anthony Tan, took inspiration from the likes of The Last Of Us and Spirited Away when working on the concept for Way to the woods, which has reintroduced itself on Microsoft’s stage.

The conference showed off a wide selection of games coming to the platform. With Tan’s game sitting alongside the likes of Gears 5 and Cyberpunk 2077, it shows off the variety that Microsoft is looking to bring to Xbox and PC going forward.

Will you be making your way to the woods in 2020?
