Witchfire emerges from development “lull”

Witchfire, the upcoming game from the creators of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is one of my most anticipated games. It was announced at The Game Awards in 2017 and things have been pretty quiet since. Aside from low-key development updates, we haven’t seen much on the first person shooter. Our own Enthusiast Andrew loved their previous effort, so it’s one we’ll all be keeping an eye on.

Today, developer The Astronauts announced that the team had emerged from a development lull. The team described this as feeling like the game wasn’t progressing, despite the time and effort being put in. To combat this feeling, they put together a short internal demo which has drastically altered their view of the game. This means we may see quite a different product to what has been shown so far.

Witchfire

Witchfire has not been announced for consoles just yet, but it’s pretty safe to say it will be coming. The atmospheric world and fast paced shooting mechanics would fit right at home on Xbox. The initial announcement only mentioned PC, but the team’s previous effort has just released on Nintendo Switch. This is in addition to all the other major platforms The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has released on.

Will you be trying this one out on PC or waiting for an Xbox release?
