Bethesda has released a brand new launch trailer for Wolfenstein: Youngblood. The upcoming co-op shooter features BJ Blazkowicz’ twin daughters fighting to save their father. A distinct 80’s vibe is given off by the trailer, which embraces Wolfenstein’s less serious side.
The trailer begins with a somber voice-over showing scenes from the previous game, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Blazkowicz speaks of the dangers his daughters will face trying to help him. The trailer then kicks into overdrive as the charismatic pair of daughters say they will do one thing; “find our Dad and kill Nazis”.
At this point, we see a bunch of first person footage along with a variety of Wolfenstein weaponry, which will explain its mature rating. Dual wielding returns along with lasers, scoped rifles and melee weapons for close encounters. It will be interesting to see how the differing weapon styles will play out as a two-player experience. This being the first entry to feature co-op, we hope there will be ample opportunity to mix up play styles and allow both characters to play off each other with gear choices.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood launches on July 26 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders include a “legacy pack” DLC, which features the New Colossus power suit skin, BJ’s Army power suit skin, The Old Blood pipe, The Old Blood knife and the WW2 weapon skin set. The trailer is linked below.
