World War Z, the third person shooter featuring plenty of zombie slaying, is getting a bunch of new content in season 2. The game launched earlier this year, and recently joined the Game Pass library. It’s structured a lot like Left 4 Dead, with a bunch of mini-campaigns and multiplayer modes to tackle.
With season 2, more modes and maps are coming. The New York and Moscow campaigns are being added to with new chapters, and a brand new horde mode is being introduced. This looks to play out like most wave-based modes; hunkering down to defeat tons and tons of enemies.
Some smaller, supplementary content is also coming. New weapons, cosmetics and prestige rank rewards will be brought in with season 2, alongside the aforementioned modes and campaign maps. The best thing about this update, is all the content mentioned so far is free.
The paid content coming to World War Z is some weapon and character skins, as shown in the roadmap. These aren’t detailed in the trailer, as that focuses on the free content. Cross-play is also being added to the game this season, following Sony’s recent policy changes.
World War Z is available as part of Xbox Game Pass, and the season 2 content trailer is available below.
